Requirements
Primary Objectives
Deliver stable, scalable FMS Live implementations that achieve target uptime, data accuracy, and cycle-time improvement across fleets and sites.
Standardise installation, commissioning, calibration, and verification procedures for both hardware and software to reduce deployment time and variance.
Embed site-level operational processes, dashboards, and action logs that drive accountability and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Deployment and Operations
Lead end-to-end FMS Live rollouts, including site readiness, hardware installation, network configuration, commissioning, and acceptance testing.
Calibrate payload, cycle-time, and positioning systems; validate data flows from onboard units to servers and BI layers against accuracy and latency SLAs.
Conduct root-cause analyses for signal loss, sensor drift, GNSS degradation, and interface errors; implement corrective and preventive actions.
Act as an ongoing technical problem solver supporting multiple global mine sites.
Systems Integration and Data Quality
Integrate onboard units, edge devices, radios, Wi‑Fi/LTE networks, servers, and APIs into client IT/OT environments while maintaining cybersecurity and backup standards.
Define and enforce data governance frameworks including tag dictionaries, units of measure, timestamp alignment, and master data integrity.
Maintain golden dashboards and operational KPIs such as availability, utilisation, delay codes, payload compliance, spotting accuracy, queue time, and throughput.
Performance Improvement and Customer Success
Lead performance and review sessions with client operations, maintenance, and planning teams; translate insights into measurable action plans.
Drive dispatch optimisation trials, haul profile tuning, and operator coaching with analytical evaluation (e.g., A/B testing or pre/post comparisons).
Train site supervisors, dispatchers, and technicians; develop SOPs, quick-reference guides, and fault trees for efficient troubleshooting.
Project and Stakeholder Management
Develop and maintain multi-site rollout schedules, risk registers, and change logs, managing scope, RAID items, and vendor dependencies.
Provide weekly performance updates to the COO, including KPIs, risks, mitigations, and strategic recommendations for decision-making.
Coordinate global travel, fieldwork, and site rotations, ensuring safety, compliance, and cost efficiency across a demanding travel schedule.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience) preferred.
Minimum 7 years of experience in mining fleet technology, FMS, telematics, or heavy equipment systems, with exposure to multi-site operations.
Proven success in commissioning, operating, and optimising fleet management systems involving hardware, software, and network layers.
Strong field engineering, troubleshooting, and issue-resolution skills in high-throughput, remote environments.
Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills to influence technical and operational outcomes globally.
